GRANDEUR OF GOD

Armageddon looming

Oozing like fresh oil

From between the world’s cracks

Comes the Grandeur of God

Breaking through the sunrise

with every sizzling sunlit streak

Comes the Grandeur of God

Like a mother’s warm breast

Offering solace to mankind

Comes the Grandeur of God.

Like lightning flashing

And thunder-clouds rolling in

Comes the Grandeur of God

Dazzling the night with start

Making the moon a shining sphere

Comes the Grandeur of God.

Our of the Virgin Mary’s womb

Into my vacant, waiting soul—

Comes the Grandeur of God.
