Someone Who Has Influenced the Way I See the World

All Hands On Deck!

U.S. Navy admiral inspects members of the French Armed Forces of New Caledonia, and U.S. Marines and Sailors USS Blue Ridge for a wreath laying ceremony

Admiral Vern Clark was a member of the church we were pastoring in Illinois.

For our annual patriotic day I asked him to greet the congregation. He told the story of the rookie seaman who was a Christian and complained that he was not able to witness to anyone about God. The Admiral (a great Christian)

told the young sailor: Are you willing to do anything? Oh,yes said the sailor.

Then go over there and scrub that deck as clean as you can and make it polish and shine. Then go witness to someone, and you'll find a much different response to your words. I learned from the Admiral your actions speak so loudly, that people can't often hear what you say.

His illustration is a great role-model for us all.
